Happiness and Humanistic Science Books:A Questionnaire Survey Abstract:
Nowdays the pressure of scholarship make the students more and more unhappy especially the students who major the science and engineering. Thus for the purpose we make a survey and write this paper. This paper discusses the relationship between the happiness and the humanistic science books among the students of science and engineering in Beihang University. By using a questionnaire survey, we select 30 respondents who major the science and engineering. The results show a habit of reading humanistic science books can make the life of these students happier and more abundant. These results will be significant for leading our life to the road of happiness.

Introduction:
Due to make clear the connection between the happiness and reading humanistic science books among the students of science and engineering, from December 1 to December7,a survery was made.30 respondents who majored the science and engineering were selected including 20 males and 10 females. The respondents were individually interviewed, based on a list of items in a standard questionnaire. In the survey the questionnaire
promise to reveal their personal imformation, so the truth of the result can be guaranteed. (De Prycker V.2010,11(5))
The questionnaire
The questionnaire consisted of five questions with several options. The first question is “What kind of books do you read in your idle time” It tends to investigate what kind of book do the students like and whether the humanistic science books are popular among the respondents. The second question is “How much time do you spend on Humanistic science books one week” This question aims to make clear what the weight of humanistic science books are in the respondents. The purpose of the third question is to gain a clear idea of whether the humanistic science books is important. The fourth and the fifth question show whether reading humanistic science books can make the students of science and engineering more happier. The complete questionnaire is at the end of the report.
Method and Result
In the process of survey, our team conducted a questionnarire and printed 30 pieces. We gived the questionnarire to every respondent, and they all finished the questionnarire in personal surrounding without signing their name. So the reliability of the result can be guaranteed. But because of the limition of time ,we only choose 30 students whose major are science and engineering. The statistics of every question are as follow:
The pie chart below show the ratio that read every kind of books in the respondents. From the figure, we can abtain the statistics. There are 23.3 percents who choose humanistic science and the same ratio select the
professional books. 30 percents take magazines as their favorite books.

The bar chart below tells us how much time the respondents spend on the humanistic science books one week.It is clear to obtain that 70 percents spend less than 4 hours on reading the humanistic science books and only
13.3% read these books more than 10 hours.

The third question in the questionnaire intents to make a clear idea of the view about the kownledge of humanistic science. From the pie, we can
see that most of the respondents think it is very important.

The bar chart below shows that the feeling of the interviewees after reading the humanistic books. 86.7 percents feel happy including 36.7
percents that feel much too happy.

If you stick to read humanistic science books after a period and obtain much knowledge of humanistic science, do you feel your life will be happier and more abundant. 30 percents think these books eich my life and I am happier than before. and 53.3% consider that to some extand,they change my method of life,but not so obviously. The others deem they don’t affect my life ,or it wastes much time.
